Step 1: Identify Your Sleep Issue
- Take a moment to notice how you’re feeling. Are you stressed, anxious, or just unable to quiet your mind?
- Rate your sleep difficulty from 0 to 10 (10 being the worst).
Step 2: The Setup Statement
- Tap gently on the side of your hand (the “karate chop” point) and say:
“Even though I’m struggling to sleep, I deeply and completely accept myself.” - Repeat this three times.
Step 3: The Tapping Sequence
Tap 5-7 times on each of the following points while saying a reminder phrase like “This sleeplessness” or “I release this stress”:
- Eyebrow
- Side of the Eye
- Under the Eye
- Under the Nose
- Chin
- Collarbone
- Under the Arm
- Top of the Head
Step 4: Check In
- Take a deep breath and notice how you feel.
- Has your sleep difficulty rating gone down? If not, repeat the process until you feel more relaxed.
