The word warrior comes from the Old North French word ‘werreier’ meaning ‘a soldier’. It first appeared in English in the 14th century.

It is a person who has experience and skill in fighting, esp. as a soldier. Anyone who fights the good fight. These days, the word Warrior is frequently used to describe a person who is very strong and doesn’t give up easily (‘He battled /something/ like a warrior‘.)

What is a Warrior to me?

These days, the word Warrior is frequently used to describe a person who is very strong and doesn’t give up easily (‘He battled /something/ like a warrior‘.) So you are not a Warrior simply because life is hard and you are struggling with an illness, or life itself.

Carlos Castaneda

“Only as a warrior can one withstand the path of knowledge. A warrior cannot complain or regret anything. His life is an endless challenge, and challenges cannot possibly be good or bad. Challenges are simply challenges.”

— Carlos Castaneda

I like what Carlos Castaneda said “Only as a warrior can one withstand the path of knowledge. A warrior cannot complain or regret anything. His life is an endless challenge, and challenges cannot possibly be good or bad. Challenges are simply challenges.”

So life is full of challenges and sometimes you hurt, sometimes you can’t be bothered. It all seems pointless. But a Warrior won’t complain. They learn from the experience and push-on.
