Did I automatically become a Warrior when I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis? I don’t believe so. Being a Warrior has nothing to do with having Multiple Sclerosis. In fact, becoming a Warrior came well before any diagnosis. The not-wanting-to-give-up attitude has been forged over the years by adversity, environment and the people in it.
How can the Wandering Warrior help your Multiple Sclerosis?
Diagnosed around 2017 with Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis, Ian Hollinsworth (aka the Wandering Warrior) has his experience of the disease; mental and physical frustrations, limitations, etc. He believes its and attitude that gets us through things, or not. So if we can modify and develop an attitude that is helpful (growth mindset) this will help us get through the tough times.
Changing the way we think and talk about ourselves (and others) and The disease (not “My Disease”) will help drive us forward and not keep us in the past and feeling sorry for ourselves. A Victim mentality is a personality trait whereby a person considers themselves a victim of their circumstances. We must avoid this at all costs.
